The Forever Hounds volunteers

Join the Forever Hounds Trust family!

Are you mad about sighthounds? Want to do something to really help dogs as part of our team?

Hound with a cat

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Forever Hounds Trust – we simply could not do what we do every day without our amazing volunteers and we are so proud of all that we achieve across the whole of the charity.

Wherever you live and whatever your skills and available time, you can help make a real difference. We have a variety of flexible and even one-off ways in which you can join in the fun! Some examples include:

  • Event organising
  • Helping at events
  • Organising social walks
  • Organising collections
  • Community talks
  • Online fundraising
  • Desk based admin
  • Design and marketing
  • Creating digital content
  • Post Homing Support (need to be a qualified behaviourist)
  • Physiotherapy (need to be a qualified physiotherapist and willing to travel to our Devon kennels)
  • Dog Walking (at Devon kennels only)
  • Fostering (need to be in Devon, Dorset, Somerset or Bristol)
  • Making craft items

The list goes on! These are just examples of how you can help. You tell us what you can offer, and we will probably have a volunteer role for you!

In return for your time, we’ll provide the training and support you need for your role to make sure you get the most out of volunteering with us.

Why should I volunteer for Forever Hounds Trust?

Woman with four hounds
  • You will meet like-minded people
  • You will learn new skills or use the ones you already have!
  • You will be giving something back to your local community – or even on a national level
  • You will be helping to change the lives of dogs that so desperately need support

Please note, for insurance purposes we can’t accept volunteers under the age of 16 (this includes children accompanying a registered volunteer at an event).

If you have any question prior to volunteering, please email volunteering@foreverhoundstrust.org, otherwise, click on the “Apply to Volunteer” button below!

A massive pointy-nosed thank you in advance!
