Wonderful Watson is our big handsome ex-racing greyhound boy – emphasis on big! He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who has really come out of himself since arriving in our care and should continue to do so in his new home. He loves his food and will do anything for a treat!
Watson gets along well with other greyhounds and could share his home with another hound, but would be equally happy as the only pet. He does struggle with meeting other dog breeds, especially smaller dogs. We have been working with Watson to help him stay calm when encountering different breeds and he has made good progress so far. However he does need care around them and will need an adopter who is physically strong enough to manage him when excited, and who is comfortable taking on a dog who will most likely need to be muzzled and on-lead in public for the foreseeable future. He walks really well on the lead when there are no other dogs about, but is a strong boy when he does pull.
Watson travels well in the van and is generally fairly confident out and about. He hasn’t lived in a home before but is a pretty laid back boy who tries to be clean in his kennel, so should settle into home life fairly easily.
Watson’s amazing ears are a constant source of amusement at kennels – he often uses them like car indicators, pointing in the direction he wants to go! If you’d like those ears to point in the direction of your sofa, please get in touch!
