Henry is a lively and active 3 year old lurcher – when he first meets new people he can be worried and a bit apprehensive, but when he gets to know you his loving and scatty side shines through – he absolutely loves curling up together with his known people. Typical for his breed he likes a good chase, so for the foreseeable future, he will need to be muzzled and on lead when out for walks.
Henry finds seeing other dogs on walks quite exciting and can become vocal and pull towards them. However, he is very clever and quick to pick up training when food is involved! Ideally his new people will have experience of reactive dogs, as Henry will need the time and patience for some ongoing training inside and outside the home.
Henry loves food and can try to help himself if the opportunity arises! He is playful with toys, housetrained and travels well in the car. Henry currently cannot be left alone at home as he does struggle with anxiety, and so needs owners who can ensure he does not need to be left for any period of time to begin with whilst he finds his feet.
Henry has shown to be very scared of men in particular and is currently looking to live in a home with female owners only. He is however, working well with training in place and slowly making friends with men who are helping to look after him.
Henry is desperate for a loving home of his own, have you got a Henry sized space on your sofa? You can apply to adopt Henry here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/dogs/henry
